How Webranking works

Webranking by Comprend is the only website ranking based on stakeholder expectations. Every year since 1997, we have asked corporate audiences such as analysts, investors, journalists and job seekers what they expect from a corporate website. Their answers are used to formulate the criteria by which your website is assessed.

Webranking is currently being redefined

The 2025-2026 edition marks the end of Webranking in its current format, which means that no new ranking will take place during the summer of 2026. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, we are developing a new service planned for launch in Q4 2026.

Ranks the websites of  Europe's largest companies

Anyone can buy a Webranking report, but only Europe's largest companies will be included in the official ranking results we publish each year. These companies are selected based on market capitalisation as seen on the STOXX All Europe 800 list, from which we pick around 700 companies to rank. STOXX is also where we see which Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB super sector) the company belongs to.

If a company is listed on several stock markets, it can be included on multiple country lists. We publish rankings for Europe overall as well as for the different countries included.

Gives websites a score of 1-100

Webranking gives your website a score of 1-100, which will depend on how well your site meets the set criteria. When you buy the Webranking report, you will see your overall score as well as the score you have received for different sections. You can also compare your performance against selected peers.
