The 19th edition of Webranking by Comprend shows that Belgian corporate websites aren’t improving as their European peers are. Compared to last year, the corporate websites of Belgium’s largest listed companies have dropped slightly whereas the average score of Europe’s 500 largest companies has increased.

Webranking 2015-2016 assessed the websites and digital communication activities of 803 companies from 36 countries. The survey measures how well each company’s digital communication meet the expectations of business journalists, analysts, investors and jobseekers. This year, 11 Belgian companies were included in the ranking, being part of the Financial Times Europe 500 list. The average score for these 11 Belgian companies is 37.7 (38.1 last year), compared to 41.0 (39.6) for the Europe 500 companies.

As the majority of the European companies, the main weakness among the Belgian companies is IR information. Only two out of the 11 companies present an investment story, and only one company – Ageas – present information about financial targets and achievements.
