Italy´s non-listed companies´ ranking now out

SACE, Pirelli and Ferrovie dello Stato clinch the titles for best online communicators in Webranking by Comprend Italy Non-Listed 2016-2017 Research

The Italian weekly Corriere Economia reported exclusively today the findings of the latest Webranking by Comprend 2016 Italy Non-listed edition in collaboration with Lundquist. The findings reveal that companies within the food and drink industry are the ones to watch when it comes to credible communication via their corporate website and digital channels.

SACE retains first place with 53.2 points out of 80. Tyre company Pirelli, for the first time in the non-listed ranking, follows in second place with 49.1 points with state-owned transport enterprise Ferrovie dello Stato in third place with 43 points.

No obligation, but business sense

Non-listed companies compete in the same marketplace as their listed counterparts, looking to attract the best talent, investors, clients and customers.  Communicating and engaging with different audiences increases the chance for companies to stand out in a competitive marketplace. For this reason, it makes business sense for non-listed companies to take advantage of the online channels available to them.

Sample grows, pass rate remains steady

The number of companies in the ranking this year has grown significantly from 50 companies last year to 62 today. Due to this growth, the average stays the same at 27% of the maximum score (80 points being the total score).

4 companies now pass the stress test, achieving over 50% of the total score (meaning they achieved more than 40 points out of a total of 80), considering the threshold for a site that meets the demands of stakeholders in terms of transparency and dialogue. Fewer are the companies who fail the stress test, those that have achieved less than 30% of the maximum points, despite almost two thirds of companies finding themselves within this group.

“Made in Italy” food & drink industry the most credible communicators

Companies within the food & drink industry show their communications prowess this year, with Made in Italy brands Granarolo, Barilla, Cremonini and Ferrero making a significant leap forward in the ranking. Amongst these names are also the best improvers, including Barilla, Ferrero and Illy, which improved by an impressive 12.3, 9.5 and 7.3 points respectively.
