This year's Webranking result for the Middle East

We have conducted our 2017 – 2018 Webranking report for the Middle East, reviewing the investor relations section of over 300 sites.

When it comes to an investor relations section companies need to think beyond the mandatory compliance, this section needs to guide investors through the company story. Comprend’s latest Capital Markets survey revealed that, aside from the usual information found in an IR section, people are interested in seeing fast facts about the company, a list of competitors and a business model, and despite financial data and reports still make up a vital and integral foundation, what can really ensure success is showcasing true transparency on the company strategy, values, goals and accomplishments.

This year has seen some fantastic examples of this from the Middle East, with areas such as company strategy being supported with infographics and videos allowing the information to be absorbed by investors quickly and effectively. Market trends are being highlighted as potential threats or gains, informing investors on how the company is constantly monitory and planning for their future.

A consistent area of improvement that has been identified for the Middle East, would be the introduction of key information pulled out and highlighted. This data is commonly located within the companies’ annual reports which are available on their sites as a downloadable PDF. If the information is within a PDF this can be difficult to view on a mobile device, which is vastly overtaking desktop on volume of user traffic. Responsive and concise information should be a key consideration when adding successful content.

With another year over, we have seen some brilliant websites taking their IR sections to new levels, with dedicated investor relations apps, to interactive content allowing for tailor made views.

We greatly look forward to seeing the improvements being made and what next year will have to offer investors.
